Health!

As all regular readers know by now, I am on a quest to get healthy and trim. I have a sister over here that is major into health and nutrition, and she is working towards her naturepath degree. For years she has told me cut your gluten's, sugars, bad fats, ans MSG products. Did I listen? no of course not!
Well I was so tired of being fat and tired that I joined the weight loss challenge and started taking baby steps towards nutrition. It has been 5 months and I have cut down on the things I eat with preservatives so much that I had not realized the effect it might have on me if I chose to consume preservatives again such as MSG.
I used cream of mushroom soup in a dish I made for dinner on monday night. Oh my word! I was so miserable, I bloated, my head was pounding, and I felt like my ears were going to explode from the pressure, all this within 1 hour of eating my dinner. I had not realized that I had cut down on preservatives to such a degree that I would have an allergic reaction from one meal.
I called my sister and said I need a recipe for cream of mushroom soup so I can make a large quanity and freeze individual bags for my meals. She never fails me, if you click on over here, she has a recipe for homemade cream of mushroom soup.
I encourage you too go to google and see all there is on MSG.

It's funny how those bad foods really effect you when you don't eat them very much. My girls know this toowell --they went to a birthday party; had coke and a cake filled with all the fake colors, hydrogenated oil, etc. and they had head aches all night :0
I am saving that recipe--so much stuff calls for cream of mushroom soup.

Wow! That's a lot of weight loss you have had. I'm very envious and on my own path to getting fit and trim too. I have about 13 lbs more I'd like to get off. Good Luck!!

I would be willing to bet the sodium had quite a bit to do with your bloating, too. Since I've started cutting that out, I sure can taste when extra salt is there!

That's awesome! I'm so glad you posted it....every time I use cream soups I feel guilty for feeding my family (and myself) junk.

MSG is evil.ha, I had to quit eating it because it would cause heart palpitations.It is an excititoxen and that causes glutamates to be produced in our brain which causes and low blood sugar and can lead to gluten sensitivity.Not worth it.hyperavtivity,headaches
