The tough days...

Yesterday, I was hit with the realization that life is so unpredictable and how precious life is. I am trying to be a support to a sister and her children whom I love very dearly and need strength more now than ever before. We are a christian family and are so grateful that our Lord is faithful and good and will bring us through the storm.
I recieved this link in an e-mail today, and it is so beautiful that tho we did not expierience death in this tragedy we feel a great loss. I would love to hear comments on this short video.

weight loss challenge!!!

At the beginning of the year I joined a weight loss challenge. It was a total of 12 weeks and I have two more weeks left. Last night was my weekly weigh-in and I was down another 1 1/2 lbs. YEAH! That makes a total of 25 lbs. My goal is to be at 30lbs lost by the end of the challenge.
I have really enjoyed the expeirience and learned so much from the class; as far as what calorie intake I need to be at for success and what ratio of protien and carbs, plus fiber I need to be healthy. I will be doing another 12week challenge along with an exercise program in two weeks. I will document my successes and the information I gain from the class as well as exactly everything that I do to reach those goals. I began on Jan. 2, 2008 with needing to lose 100lbs. My goal at the end of the 2nd 12 week challenge is to be at 60lbs lost. I also start walking 5k's at the beginning odf April. And I will compete in 1-2 5k walk races each month through out the whole summer. I do this not to win but because I am motivated by competion so that pushes me to exercise regularly. Exercise also helps reduce stress as well as strengthen the heart. when you build muscle the muscle will burn the fat. Drinking lots of water, (starting with doubleing your current intake if it's under 2qts a day) will aid hugely in weight loss because it is the elimination process to get it out of the body. Look for more helpful information each thursday as I post my results. I will have my first celebration on wednsday, March 26,2008!! hoping for the big 30!
If you have any great ideas or success tips in your weight loss endeavors let me know. Love to hear about it!

Scrapbooking Addicts

I can admit I am an addict. The paper, the embellishments, the photos, all of it is my favorite. I am still working on adding all the elements to my blog; but in the mean time I'll share some of the things that inspire me and the things that helped me get started.

I had a "buddy". She and I started on the same day; and went in with eyes wide open. we bounced ideas off one another; such as color scheme, embellishments, titles and journaling.

First we selected an event, then a title, and then shaped the pictures on our "canvas". a great resource is going to www.creatingkeepsakes.com and looking at examples of layouts. It's free and you can get so many great ideas.

Also check at your local craft stores for crop nights; the fee's are usually low (5-10 dollars) and they have a lot of the equipment so you can decide which tools you like the best and buy only what you need.

My top 5 favorite tools are:
5-'yes' glue and a fine tip paint brush
4- small alphabet stckers
3- creative memories cutting system
2-pattern paper
1-the 'cricut'

I would love to hear your top 5 faves!

This is a new adventure for me...

I have been checking other blogs and I really enjoyed seeing others view points and giving my own. It was a validating feeling knowing I could give my opinion and maybe someone will like it but if not oh well.
I love being a mother and a wife; but I am not to proud to admit that I am not perfect in either of those area's. I do freak out under pressure and I do enjoy getting free time to myself away from children and my spouse. After I have my alone time I feel I love my husband and children ten times more than before. I have been trying different things to be able to with stand more pressure and enjoy all that life has to offer.
I hope you enjoy my blog; you will see that I do have a passion or obsession(what ever you want to call it) for photo's, both candid and professional. Although I don't have any credentials in photography, I'm passionate about preserving memories that are pleasing to the eye. I love scapbooking and I will post some of my layouts to share a piece of my story.
