when I don't desire God...

My husband and I just started a new study with our couples class at church. It is on the book 'When I don't desire God' by John Piper. We have workbooks and a dvd study that we are using along with this. I was a bit intimidated at first, but after getting into the first two studies I am very excited and anxious to learn. We have excellent teachers and the group is wonderful too. This study is very deep, but when working along with others to disect it and understand it, it is so enjoyable and a I learn so much more when I an hear others take on the scripture and see what I may have missed. I have always had a problem being disciplined with my daily devotions and this has devotions through out the week that will also help me grow in this area.
The pastor of our church did get a lot of mentorship from Pastor John Piper and so I am excited to expierience a fraction of what our pastor has.

I encourage you to get into a study of your own and tell me about it, we can all learn somthing and maybe I can learn something new from you.
God bless and have a great day, Christina

I would really like to find something like this. I have to say that my church (Catholic) doesn't offer much in the practical realm of things! I love my faith but respect so many others for having so many opportunities for growth.

SO GOOD. piper is GREAT GREAT GREAT. it's been a long time since i've read him though. i've also struggled (especially since marriage & baby) with my daily quiet time...but i know with prayer and discipline i'll get back into it. :-)

I will have to check that out. My husband is our small group leader.

I am going to look into this one--our small group is getting ready to start a new study. I will suggest it!
