Being Thankful!

Through a chain of blogs and hearing God's word through family Life, I have been so convicted that I am not intentional enough about being thankful.
I don't express it enough to my children that I am thankful for them and all the sweet little things they do that make me smile. Nor do I express to them that it is so important to say thank you to God for all we have instead of always asking for more. (my downfall)
I know I don't nearly convey how important and what a blessing my husband is in my life. I am so thankful for all he is and does.
Why is it such a great big secret to us that we are thankful. The word thankful is such a humbling word, It takes the "I" out of the equation and puts "_____" into the equation. Taking out the "I" is the magic for me.

I found idea's through Jackie's blog here on a few craft projects to do with your kids and that would be a great way to talk about being thankful and the importance of being thankful. If you read Jackie's post follow her links as well because there are some great idea's.

Thanks for reading my blog, and drop me a note on what you are thankful for.

God Bless, Christina

I am thankful that God is in control. I'm thankful for my husband and kids. I'm thankful for health. I'm thankful for a home with plumbing and heat! So much to be thankful for!

I agree with everyone who commented before me. I am thankful for my son's little monkey dance that puts an instant smile on my face (just to reiterate what we talked about last sunday). I am thankful that we have joy in our lives. Be it from our children, the first snow, a peaceful morning when no one disobeys ;) So very much to be thankful for!

Oh, where do I start! I am thankful for my Lord and my family, of course. For little things, like making sugar cookies with Savannah. For talking on the phone with a good friend. For being able to worship freely. For the friends I have met through blogland. :)

I know how you feel. My husband has really helped me on being thankful, because he says it so much. We started telling Mary, thank you, when she would obey our instruction. Now, it is so cute that she says thank you without coaching. Have a blessed day! Elena
